The NOA webinar held on 17 November 2021 brought together dozens of orthoapedic collegaues across the country to hear presentations focussed on orthopaedic recovery – prioritisation and harms review.
The session looked at the challenges faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic as Clinicians try to make sure the most urgent cases are given the correct priority and that potential and real harm are identified during this process.
We heard from NOA member organisations who shared their experiences over the past year. From the importance of administrative support to potential psychological harm and addressing how to support patients to optimise their condition pre surgery, meaningful discussions took place during the webinar. Speakers on the day included:
- Dawn Forrest, Managing Director – Clinical Services Unit, Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthoapedic Hospital
- Andrew Price, Clinical Director, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospitals
