Jo Williams, NOA Lead CEO

Following an extensive recruitment campaign, we’re delighted that NOA Lead CEO, Jo Williams, has been appointed as a Trustee on the Board of charity, Versus Arthritis.

Jo is Chief Executive at NOA founder member organisation, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (ROH), and has been involved with the NOA since 2019. She became  Lead CEO in 2020.

On her appointment, Jo said: “It is a privilege to be appointed as a Trustee on the Board of Versus Arthritis. I am looking forward to meeting and working with the staff, volunteers, supporters and members of the charity. It’s an amazing charity, and together we will continue to improve the lives of people with arthritis.”

Deborah Alsina, CEO of Versus Arthritis said “We are very excited to welcome our new Chair and Trustees who will be joining Versus Arthritis as we launch a new five year strategy. We would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to our outgoing chair Rodger McMillan and Vice Chair Karin Hogsander and trustees who are stepping down shortly and wish them all the very best for the future.”

Ann Hoey, Programme Director of NOA said, “Congratulations to Jo on this well-deserved appointment. The NOA  looks forward to supporting her in this new role and  will aim to contribute to the work of Versus Arthritis in any way we can”.

New trustees joining Versus Arthritis almost all have a personal connection. One of the key objectives during this recruitment process was to diversify the Board to better reflect the experiences of people with arthritis, with new trustees ranging in age, gender, and ethnic background. Some have been volunteering with the charity for a long time, and others are completely new, all bringing a diverse range of expertise and experience to support future development.
