This webinar focused on delivering at scale to alleviate the orthopaedic backlog, as well as exploring how technology is helping us to work faster.
Speakers included:
- Sandeep Chauhan Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, NHS Innovations Accelerator Fellow, and Co-Founder of Definition Health. Sandeep’s presentation focused on Lifebox ePOA, one of NHS Innovations Accelerator’s 6 key digital innovations to help hospitals recover from COVID-19 and the only one related to surgery. The digital system follows the patient from first appointment, through their pre-assessment process, education, outcomes assessment and monitors recovery once patients are discharged.
- Nathan Moore Specialty Training Registrar at Peninsula Deanery and Founder of Primum Digital Limited shared details about Orthopathway, an NHS England and NHS Improvement initiative supported by SBRI Healthcare, and the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs). OrthoPathway is a web platform designed to maximise the clinical effectiveness of NHS musculoskeletal services. Patient-facing clinical staff are able to follow best practice national guidelines adapted by their local expert NHS consultants.
- Mark Broadbent and Robin Balmforth, Co-founders of ConsentWise – transforming consent in healthcare. Mark and Robin shared details of this consent automation platform, which empowers healthcare teams to transact with patients through personalised digital consent packs.
