NOA Webinar: National Consultant Information Portal (NCIP), Orthopaedic Roll Out

Date: 6 July 2022 at 1pm - 2.15pm

Venue: Virtual (Zoom)

The National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) has created a secure online portal which enables NHS consultants, surgeons in the first instance, to review information about their clinical activity and their benchmarked patient outcomes.

The portal provides access to individual outcomes data and unit-level data across a range of surgical specialties. It is intended to support NHS consultant surgeons in England as part of their personal learning and development. The portal provides both local and national benchmarks against which consultants can review and assess their patient outcomes with the aim of delivering improved patient care.

The program is now being rolled out in Orthopaedic Surgery across England.

Speakers include:

  • Stephen Lowis, NCIP Programme Implementation and Insights Lead, NHS England and NHS Improvement

  • Deborah Higgs, NCIP Orthopaedic Clinical Lead and Clinical Director Specialist Surgeries, Consultant Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust

This webinar is of specific interest to all Orthopaedic Surgeons , Clinical and Medical Directors and Chief Responsible Officers and also those involved in Consultant Appraisal.
