A Greener and sustainable NHS

When booking travel and accommodation please consider ways to minimise your carbon footprint and to use ethical and sustainable companies.

The NHS has two targets:

  • The NHS Carbon Footprint: for the emissions we control directly, net zero by 2040
  • The NHS Carbon Footprint Plus: for the emissions we can influence, net zero by 2045.

The BCEC is located in the heart of Birmingham’s city centre, just a minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station.

Did you know….

  • The Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre is located within the same building. There are a 50 Holiday Inn rooms available to NOA members at a rate of £133 B&B inc. VAT for 18 October and also 50 rooms for 19 October. Any unsold rooms will be released 30 days prior to the event to be sold at the best available rate. The BCEC is located in Birmingham city centre, making it a highly accessible venue for events.

The BCEC is right next door to Birmingham New Street station. Exit the station (via stairs or lift) at the southerly exit (head for Wetherspoon's 'The London & North Western' bar) onto the corner of Station Street and Hill Street. Bear left on Hill Street and the BCEC is in front of you. See map below


Taxi's are not needed to get to the venue if you are coming from New Street Station. However, if you need a taxi to travel around Birmingham there is a taxi rank on Station Street outside New Street Station just around the corner from the BCEC. Alternatively the main New Street station taxi rank can be accessed by heading up into the station and turning right following the taxi signs.
